Nonoi College, established in 1985 is the only higher educational institution of greater Nonoi area, the college
is affiliated to Gauhati Universirty and has been provincialised by the Govt of Assam in 2013. If has played a key
role to impart higher education in this economically backward area. The College is on the edge of 36 No. National
Highway, so entrance to the college is easy and cheap, as it is on the bank of Nonoi river, ecological balance is
well maintained. Nonoi College that was established by few devoted social workers of this area has now played a
greater role without failure in the educational and cultural journey towards a higher level.
The College with only Art stream is facilitated with the subjects-Assamese, English, Political Science, Economics,
Education, Folklore, History, Psychology and Advanced Assamese. It offers major in the subjects-Assamese, English,
Political Science and Education.
Nonoi College is taking initiative in opening science and commerce streams in future. Since experienced,
efficient and devoted faculties are engaged in imparting education, the results of the college are better
in standard.
The main objective of the college is to make the students to socially and academically responsible citizens of future.
